1. According to you, who is the protagonist of the poem, clarissa or Belinda? Give your answer with logical reason.
'The rape of the lock ' is mock heroic poem written by Alexander pope. In this poem we find character of Belinda as protagonist. Every work needs on hero or protagonist and other minor characters.
According to me Belinda is central character (it looks more opproprite to called her central character instead of protagonist). But the real protagonist of poem is Clarissa. Clarissa plays important roll in poem. Especially in the climax of poem.
Clarissa is also part of same class which Belinda belongs but she is different than other. Clarissa is a women who know the right thing. And she wants to teach this to Belinda. And for that reason Clarissa helps Baron to cut the lock.
Protagonist should have a quality like values, common sense, understanding, courage which Clarissa has. Clarissa was a person who wants to open eyes of every upper class' women.
The real beauty of person is values, character, nature not the fair face and long hair. Clarissa's speech of canto 5 is able to prove her as a protagonist. The speech analyze that
"Beauty grabs attention, but one's merit wins over that person's heart and soul".
So, for given reason Clarissa is a real protagonist of poem. Who wants to do the rightus thing in poem.
2. What is beauty? Write your views about it.
Beuty is note a simple element, it can make our characters valuable. According to me beauty is "virtue ". The outer beauty of face will ruin one day but our virtus soul will never feded.
Body will died one day but the virtus person will live forever. We have name number of good person who are live in our hearts, because they had virtus.
According to me virtus are the real beauty of every person. Good and kind behavior, positive thoughts and helpful nature makes beauty ful person.

This paper would discuss and evaluate the traces and proofs regarding pope's demonstration of disapproval about British mannerism and exaggerated decency in his world renowned mock epic.
The most powerful tool used by pope show his disapproval of so-called aristocratic and civilized mannerism prevailing in his contemporary society is implied satire.
He reaveal in many lines the hollowness and emptiness of exaggerated politeness and frivolous decency found in the contemporary society in satire technique.
Pope opens the poem with an epic question who's satirical tone signals his intent to ridicule his society. As in traditional epics, pope 's poem open with the invocation of a muse. He then ask a question that states the topic that epic will address.
In"the rape of the lock" , the epic convention is inverted because the epic question is of a trival subject mater.
4.write your views about the significance of hair.
Human body have different body parts .and some the parts have their duty to protect body. Whereas some parts are for doing daily works.
Hairs made to protect the head. But as time passes hair became essential part of beauty. In ancient time hair are the symbol of self respect. Which we can see in "Mahabharata". Where 'Draupati' takes plege to not tie her hair till the death of 'Dushasan'.
As time changes itself modern society gives the concept of sallon and with cuting and using chemical hairs again become thing of fashion. If we focuses of significance hair are important to protect head , but more than it long hair and short hair are personal liking things.
