Pamela or virtue Rewarded by Samuel Richardson

 Samuel Richardson's  pamela or virtue rewarded. 

Hello learners.  I am a student. In this blog i will try to discuss very interesting question. This blog is part of thinking activity which assign by Vaidehi ma'am. 

If pamela was in the contemporary time, will the story take any changes ? 

1. Virtue : 

    As we can see in the character of pamela virtus are Pamela's ornaments. As we heard in Sanskrit :

                        "शिलम् परम् भूषणम्"

     Character is the biggest virtue. But inthis contemporary time virtues are going to less important. If pamela was in contemporary time than because of this century she had to change her values and virtues. 

2. A female :

    In novel  of pamela as a female was like bonded in chains of born,  onece marrige and settle, but contemporary time pamela will definitely need to educate and achieve your something in life.  

        So if pamela was in contemporary time than she must educate for self depends and than will marry. 

3.Marriage:

    

      As we heard in indian culture that marriage is necessary and crucial part of part. The same thing we csn see in novel but in little different way. 

    If pamela was in contemporary time than her firts choise could be study,  gain knowledge,  explore new places and become independent instead of marry. 

4.Class difference :

      In novel jane austen has potryed class difference by character of Mr. Darcy. It was firstly barrier to marriage .but now class difference is become minor thing to marry someone.  As 21 century people has changes their maind set. 

       If pamela was in contemporary time this class difference were less important or point to be neglected. Because in current time love or relations are more important than social class. 

   

5. Male dominating Society :

     The novel conveys the theme of Male dominant society. Where male is supreme. In this story Mr. Darcy is a symbol of patriarchal Society. But the current situation is going to change. 

     If pamela was in contemporary time than this Petrarch thing must be argumentative. Because in current time all are equally important. Especially when we were talking about male and female both are equally play there rolls.
