Pride and prejudice

Pride and prejudice movie vs novel.

Hello learners. I am a student. I am writing this blog as part of thinking activity which assign by Medhama'am. In this i will try to discuss some important aspect of pride and prejudice novel and it's movie adaption.

1.compare the narrative stratergy of the novel and movie.

The close relationship between literature and film has been broadly studied from a methodology and an interpretative point of view.

Narrative depth :The novel provides much more detailed character development and internal thoughts, allowing readers to gain a deeper understanding of the characters' personalities and motivations. In contrast, the film adaptation needs to condense and simplify some aspects due to time limitations.

Pacing:The novel has a leisurely pace, allowing for intricate subplots and social commentary. The movie, on the other hand, needs to maintain a faster pace to fit within the typical 2-hour runtime, which may lead to the omission of certain subplots and minor characters.

Visual storytelling : The movie utilizes visual and auditory elements to convey emotions and character interactions, such as cinematography, music, and acting. These elements can enhance the viewer's engagement in a way that the written word cannot.

Character potrayel :While the novel offers extensive  into characters' thoughts and feelings, the film relies on actors' performances to convey emotions and personalities. Keira Knightley who played Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, brought their own interpretations to these iconic roles

Narration :  In novel we can see first person or third parson narration but in movie adaption there is a visual of story, no any particular point of view of narration.

2.write an illustration of the society of jane Austen's time.

Any writer can't write without affected from  society .here in works of jane austen she also depicts many aspects of her society. In the society of Jane Austen's time, which was the late 18th and early 19th centuries, social structure and etiquette played a significant role. It was a society characterized by strict class distinctions and often centered around rural and small-town life in England.

Class distinctions:
In the time of jane austen society was divided into distict classes. Such s upper, middle class and lower class. They were always try to climb the social leader of society.

Marriage and courtship :
As we can see in the movie that marriage is the altimate goal for a girl.because this was a way to secure thair future. Marry in wealthy is basic need of families.marriges of that time were depend n economical condition of both families .

Gender roles :
Gender is a arguable topic of every time. Here in time of jane austen male were responsible for family and women are hause maker mostly. Marriage is too important for women's future more important than study. Whereas to become welthy is goal of male.

Social gathering:
In the society of jane Austen social gathering was a important event. Tea Party, Ball party, dinner this was common in society. This kind of meeting provide opportunity for socializing.

3.what if Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth never got together? What if lydia's elopement had a different outcome?
Explore the consequences of these changes and write alternative ending to the novel.

If Elizabeth and mr darcy never marry and Lydia's elopement had a different outcome than story or this novel would take a totally different end.

Central plot :
The central plot focuses on story of Elizabeth and mr. Darcy.  If they nevee got together than novel would different frome plot, themes etc. Elizabeth and mr darcy marriage is resolution of novel.  Without it may be story would be incomplete.

Character growth :
Every plot of novel developed with character growth. Without character development novel become boring. Here in this novel marrige shows growth of story and novel both.

If Lydia's elopement in novel had a different outcome, it would significantly impact the story's plot and characters. Lydia's elopement with Mr. Wickham is a major crisis in the novel, and her eventual marriage to him is only made possible through Mr. Darcy's intervention. If the outcome were different.

Lydia become uamarried or marry with someone else :
If Mr. Darcy hadn't stepped in to persuade Wickham to marry Lydia, she might have been left unmarried and disgraced. This would have a lasting impact on her family's reputation.Lydia marries someone else: It's possible that Lydia could have married someone else, but this would also bring significant consequences, as her elopement with Wickham tarnished her reputation.

In any case, altering the outcome of Lydia's elopement would lead to a different set of consequences and developments in the story, affecting the characters and the overall message of the novel.
